Tenalet: Streamline Tenant Screening & Rent Collection in Nigeria

Intro to Tenalet for landlords and agents

As a landlord, whether at home or abroad, you rely on gut feelings and lack of data to make rental decisions. Not only that, but there's also this lingering fear whenever you're about to sign your property over to tenants—a fear fueled by traumatic experiences with past tenants. So, every time you want to rent out your property, you find yourself reflecting on all these negative experiences.

But what if there was a way to transform this anxiety-ridden process into one backed by solid data and verifiable information?

Let's explore how Tenalet addresses this challenge in the next section.

What is Tenalet?

Tenalet is an online rental platform built to solve the biggest challenges landlords face in renting in Nigeria, including risk, delays, and paperwork. Tenalet provides tools to streamline the rental process for landlords/agents.

Info
Tenalet is not a website for listing houses. Instead, we manage everything that happens after you find an applicant.

How does Tenalet solve these challenges?

Tenalet provides a comprehensive toolset for landlords/agents to manage the entire rental process after they have found prospective tenants. These tools include the following:

Tenant screening

Tenalet runs a full digital background check to find out who your tenant really is and if they are trustworthy. Tenalet verifies applicants' identity, confirm their actual income, and review their financial history.

Rent automation

Tenalet handles rent collection automatically with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS e-Mandate), so you never have to chase payments or create receipts manually.

Here's what happens automatically:

  • Payment reminders go out to tenants before rent is due

  • Receipts are generated and sent immediately after each payment

You get paid on time, without the usual back-and-forth.

Lease automation

Tenalet handles the contracts so you can sign quickly and legally. This uses digital signing (e-signature) to speed up contract completion. We manage all data securely to comply with Nigeria's Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

What’s next?

Now that you understand Tenalet’s tools and how we reduce your risk, the next step is to learn how to screen a tenant.
